The Process of Emergency Liver Transplant

To be specific, there are three stages of any liver transplant case, which includes several procedures and exercises that a patient has to undergo. The below snippets explain those pre, during and post processes of emergency liver transplant –
Pre Surgery Stage :
This is the initial stage in which the patient and the physician do not know the condition of the liver. A stern liver disease can sprout with fever, especially the yellow fever or jaundice. In the early phase, the patient can experience brutal pain in the abdominal area, considering which, if it stays for more than a couple of days, the physician may refer the patient for further evaluation and treatment. If liver damage has been diagnosed, the patient will be sent for deep evaluation and emergency liver transplant surgery.
If the liver has been damaged due to an accident, then also the patient will be referred for further immediate treatment.
The pre surgery stage also includes evaluation of the donor’s health, specifically the liver. For the operation to succeed, the blood group of both, the patient and the donor, should match, and the donor’s organ should be in good condition.
Patients may have to wait for months to get the most suitable organ for transplant.
During Surgery Stage :
The condition of donor’s organ is again checked right before the transplantation surgery. The sugar level and blood press of the patient are also diagnosed before/during the surgery. It is a critical procedure, and the operation can take hours of time to complete.
Post Surgery Stage :

This is the recovery period. After the surgery, the patient may have to stay in the hospital for about a week or so, and then he is discharged to take rest at home. In this stage, the patient’s health condition is closely observed.

Going for Liver Transplantation? Here are a few Important Points to Consider

Liver transplantation is a brave decision, and when you go for it, you already understand the associated risks. During the treatment, patients need to stay calm and hopeful.
The doctors recommend organ transplant, when the liver stops functioning, or gets damaged beyond repair.
To stop the liver from attaining this stage, doctors recommend stay conscientious about your health, and what you eat.
First and foremost, you should consult only a qualified transplant surgeon, or a recognized liver hospital in India. Only such places have proper and sufficient means to provide treatment for ailing liver.
Moreover, it would be better to seek references ‘where you should get the treatment’ from your family doctor and friends. They are the best sources to rely upon.
Review the history and recognition of the hospital. It is a paramount step, and by following this step, you will be making sure that you are getting the best possible treatment. A notoriously famed hospital is not the place that you should go for liver transplantation. They can worsen many a things for the patient. They charge illegitimately; they provide the wrong treatment; and they do not have to do anything with the life of the patient. Be mindful of such practitioners.

The liver transplant cost in India is much affordable than that of other western countries. It is essential to ask about a lump sum amount for the transplant surgery and treatment. If you feel like, you can discuss the same with your family doctor and other hospitals.

As a result of the virus attack, the liver starts decaying, which ultimately takes the diseased condition called cirrhosis. The cirrhosis, in the end, damages the functions of the liver. Starts as a simple sign usually, the Hepatitis C disease can be life threatening, if small liver disarrays and digestion problems are aren’t cured properly.

If the patient is recurrently vomiting, complaining pain in abdominal area and muscles, and claiming irregularities in urine and latrine habits, there could be possibility of hepatitis C infection.
Treatment of Hepatitis C
The doctors prescribe medicines to prevent the damaging of liver. But it is only probable in the early stage. The doctors would also check if these medications are working for the patient or not. Importance of Liver Transplant Compatibility

Organ transplant is a crucial decision for the patient (or the recipient) and the donor of the organ. In cases of liver transplant, which is the only possible solution for organ failure and damage, it is very important to check the compatibility of donor and recipient. It is called the liver transplant compatibility, in which a number of aspects of both the persons are evaluated. These factors are – (for living donors)
Health Condition – The physical condition of the donor should be sound and well. Additionally, the liver should also be in a good condition so that it can support the recipient after the transplant. Various tests are done to check the health of the donor and the liver before the surgery. The donor should not have any critical diseases, like Hepatitis, Jaundice, Heart diseases, diabetes, etc.
Blood Group – Most importantly, both the giver and the receiver should have the same blood group. To avoid further complications, matching the blood groups is an important exercise.

Physique – The donor should have a similar or healthier physique than the recipient. His/her organs should be healthy enough to endure the transplant, and assist the body system of the patient. Particularly, here the term ‘healthy’ does not imply that the giver should be obese or fatty.
